By Dot McDonough Photos by Denise Maccaferri The Spire Center for performing arts in Plymouth, Massachusetts is a non-profit organization for the

performing arts. Sitting in the heart of Plymouth this 3-story building consist of SeaSound’s recording

studio, tai chi, and of course the main floor where the main stage is. This is where you can catch a

national act performing some of their biggest hits or a show put on by both local and/or touring theater

companies. Twice a month you can enjoy or join in on open Jazz and blue Jams in the lounge and every

Thursday is acoustic open jam where you can get up and play 3 original tunes or 2 epic ballads. Once a

year they hold an open mic challenge in the lounge, where three winners will get chosen on each of the

three nights the winners from those nights will then perform on the big stage with professional sound

and lighting and a winner is chosen at the end of the night. Winner gets 5 free hours of recording time at SeaSound studios as well as opening for a national headliner act. The ever growing and expanding facility is one of the best sounding rooms in New England. It is located right on Court street surrounded by local shops and restaurants and just a block away from Plymouth rock. Come to Plymouth shop around, grab a bite and enjoy a show at the Spire Center!
